Religious Trauma Therapy

I am on a mission to provide religious trauma-informed support and resources to survivors of and those helping survivors of religious trauma, adverse religious experiences (AREs), faith deconstruction, cults, spiritual abuse, and leaving high demand/high control systems.

Religious trauma therapy is a modality that  provides a nurturing and inclusive space where you can safely process and navigate the complexities of religious trauma, allowing you to reclaim your personal power and forge a path toward emotional well-being. This specific training specializes in understanding the psychological effects of religious trauma, including issues like controlling teachings, abuse, fear-based practices, identity crises, and social isolation.

Religious trauma syndrome (RTS) occurs when an individual struggles with leaving a religion or a set of beliefs contributing to their indoctrination. Religious trauma often involves breaking away from a controlling environment, lifestyle, or spiritual figure. In some settings, the symptoms of religious trauma can be similar to those of complex post-traumatic stress disorder (C-PTSD).
